LSC. Underground laboratory of Canfranc

Canfranc – Aragon
The LSC is the second largest deep underground laboratory in Europe, in close collaboration with the most important underground laboratories in the international context: LNGS (Italy), SNOLab (Canada) and Kamioka (Japan). The experimental galleries of the Laboratorio Subterráneo de Canfranc (LSC) are excavated in the rock at a depth of 800 metres below the Tobazo Mountain in the Aragonese Pyrenees. The mountain filters cosmic radiation creating the "cosmic silence" necessary for the investigation of particles, natural events such as the collision with an atom of neutrinos from the cosmos or particles of the invisible "dark matter".
